An educator by background, David began
working at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont (now Fletcher
Allen Health Care) in 1983. He was responsible for developing an
IT Education Center and teaching attending physicians, house officers,
and medical students how to use the clinical systems.
In 1985, David established the first
computerized links between the Medical Center and several regional
health care organizations. Two years later, he became the hospital's
first Information Security Manager.
In 1996, David established Confidentiality
Matters, a firm that has provided comprehensive information security
services to some of the nation's leading hospitals and health systems.
"Dave
has worked with us since 1997. He is an excellent teacher,
listener, and adviser. There is no substitute for experience,
wisdom, and common sense. Fortunately, Dave possesses all
three. It is a pleasure to work with him."
